We love to read our daughters' blogs. They actually help us keep up with them, and the pictures are fun--we can go back to them whenever we want. And the best part is seeing our granddaughter, Anna-Jane, who lives far away in Colorado. Between the web-cam visits and blogs, we feel a bit closer than just by phone. So, since we enjoy their blogs, we've decided to try blogging, too.

Cousins Weekend and High Tea

Time with cousins probably began when we were Anna-Jane's age....and now...

La La and Anna-Jane

I am SO behind on posts, but there is no lack of things to share! I'm so grateful for family, and right now for cousins with whom I grew up. We kinda grew apart while we were young adults, but we've reconnected, and we try to get together at least once a year to catch up, go out to eat, and enjoy each other's company. We've gathered in Colorado, in San Antonio, at our house, and this past spring, in Dallas, at Mary's house. We got to ooh and ahh over her re-decorated house and landscaping. Laurie ('LaLa' to Anna-Jane), Bree and Anna-Jane drove in from Colorado to join the fun.

One big treat was going to the Adolphus for High Tea. Ever been to one? It is quite a production--we quickly grew stumped over which tea to choose. According to our very British accented server, it was very important! So we let her choose, and it was fine with us. I think we had a 4 course 'meal' of scones, cucumber sandwiches, and other things. All pretty scrumptious. I think we should have worn hats and gloves to really pull it off...

Laurie and I went to the King Tut Exhibit, which was fabulous. Here is one small photo from the hotel, but we looked instead of snapping--it was overwhelming and truly amazing. We missed Anne, our Indiana cousin--hopefully we can ALL meet next summer!
