After almost a week without home phone usage, Larry got us new land phones. Both of our kids and their husbands do not even use land phones, just their cells. I guess that is the new thing. We really don't need a land line--we both have cell phones, too, but we still wanted that home phone. Is that our generation? I have very vague memories of my family having a 'party line,' and very sharp memories of needing to be clock-minded whenever we talked long distance to anyone--it was so expensive! Not that we don't need to be frugal now, but it sure is great to have the same family plan so that we can talk with Bree, Kyle, and Anna-Jane without worrying about those minutes so much!
Recently my old cell phone gave up, so Larry got me a new phone with lots of bells and whistles. The touch pad is so sensitive that when it bumps against anything in my purse, I hear it ringing--it is calling someone for me--isn't it considerate? It is always inviting me to get on the internet with it, but I am not yet ready for email by phone yet. I've just begun to try texting, and it's a good thing I don't have to hurry--i can type fast, but texting is almost another language!

I remember the party lines and the expensive long distance. This is great, now I have more than one blog to check. I love all of your pictures.
