I am a book hound. I LOVE to read, and I love books, and I'm now addicted to audio-books. I listen to them while in the car on the way to and from work as well as around town. Right now I'm listening to "
You Were Born for This," by Bruce Wilkinson, who wrote "
The Prayer of Jabez." It is a fascinating book about partnering with God in being a delivery agent of the miracles that He has in mind for people. I may listen to it again. It is informative and encouraging to be more aware of those 'nudges' that God gives to us--sometimes we're brave enough to act on them, and sometimes not certain enough to follow through. I know that the times I have participated in something I knew was bigger than myself was a huge blessing to both the other person and me as well.
And, I like light reading too. Mysteries especially. Not too complicated like Robert Ludlum (especially on audiobook--now who was Ron, who was mentioned 2 chapters ago?) Sue Grafton, Patricia Cornwell, Faye Kellerman, etc. are great! And, Robin told me about the
Twilight series being good. I'd heard about it, or course, but it sounded weird, vampires and love stories with humans, and teenagers? But I borrowed the books and read all 4, and I have to say that I'm sorry that the series is over. They were really good. And the author gives me hope--she got a story and ran with it--had never written anything before, but within dreaming about the characters and writing the book, and then publishing it--took 6 months! Amazing!
